Fashion Show.

Here are some pictures from the fashion show that I attended and helped with this past Friday.
I designed the flyer and helped advertise for the show. Plus I helped back stage with getting the models ready, and changed during the show.
It was crazy. I loved it.

Some of the fabulous models.
I love this cardigan! It's so unique; I got it for christmas, but I think you could easily sew in crinoline to any cardigan or just put it around your neck as a scarf.

Yes she was wearing only underwear under that, but it was SEXY!

This is the only good picture that I got of the fashion show, but check out www.ruemfashion.com for more pictures of the show and about the designer.

Here's the video of my outfit.

Video Pictures & Trends...

I meant to put them up earlier this week but I've been very busy, anyways finally the pictures from the video are here

Hope you enjoy

Velvet leggings are very on trend right now.
I paired them with a black flowy top to really show them off, and by keeping everything else in the outfit black you really notice the texture of the leggings.
It was her idea to wear red lipstick with this outfit, which totally brings the outfit together.

I know everyone is wondering where she got those shoes right?
Thrift Store! and she had a coupon.
Any type of chunky shoe is going to be hot this spring and summer.
These black ones were be fab paired with a night time summer look.

I love this look; its causal but super cute and perfect for school.
This blazer/blouse has the one staple that you should always look for when buying a top layer.
It has a defined waist. Even though this one is only on the back it's still giving her an hourglass figure.

When your pairing a jacket/blouse over a top you can either pull colors so they match, or pick a totally different color just make sure it goes.

Here's the final velvet look. I decided to pair the velvet tank with the another texture, leather.
When pairing two textures keep both textures the same color to really makes them pop.

The colors in this outfit don't really match, but they go.
Everything is bright, and within the same color tone of pink.

If you want to make this a school outfit or are just not a heal wearer, change the heels for some nude flats.

We wanted to go back to woodstock, when she put this outfit on.
Pairing a chocker necklace with a button up collared shirt is very trendy right now.

I paired the plain high waisted shorts with this top to keep your focus on the shirt otherwise the outfit would be too busy.

Keep the pieces plain if your going to pair two bright colors together that don't relate with any hing else if your outfit.

These nude heels have been at Kohl's for over a year now.
Nude is a color that is here to stay especially in shoes because it goes with everything in any season.

Again I pulled a color from the dress for the jacket and shoes.

Cropped jackets and blazers look fab paired with dresses, rompers, or high waisted anything.

Thanks

Rae

Mini Fashion Obsession...

I just have a mini blog for you tonight.

I just subscribed to Elle magazine, and I was flipping through the huge March 2012 issue checking out all the ads, and I'm totally obsessed with the new Louis Vuitton ad. I love their oversized buttons  that they put on just about everything the best. They are so chic and so vintage. I love it.

I think that vintage is going to be very trendy for this summer. I've been seeing it all over in the magazines, on blogs, on TV. It's consists of light colors, flare jeans, chunky shoes, flowy dresses, crochet tops. I think that they are pulling pieces for numerous decades, but I feel as though a lot of it is coming for the 70's.

Elle has a nice spead of pictures about the trend if you need inspiration, but you could also pick up just about any magazine and I can guarantee they will feature something from the 70's if you need some inspiration.

Let me know what you think of this trend.
Be sure to check out the Louis Vuitton ad too.

Thanks

Rae

Outfit of the Day...

Here's my outfit, which is actucally from Monday, but it's been a very busy week.
Hope you enjoy.

Polka dots are very trendy right now, which is why I decided to wear this fab shirt I picked up at a thrift store a couple months ago. It's just a plain blue short sleeve button up, and let me say that it is very comfortable (I was never a huge fan of shirts like this before).

Since it was a blue top I thought pairing it with white jeans would make the top stand out a more, which is what I wanted the main focus of my outfit to be. I did tuck the shirt into my pants because otherwise it looked too frumpy. I have learned that tucking shirts in can give them a whole new look. Oh and another piece of advice with short sleeve shirts to make them look more stylish I suggest rolling up the sleeves once or twice.

I know that the red, white, and blue might look a little patriotic, but I thought it went well because it gave me a vintage vibe, and I'm very much obsessed with everything vintage. I was going to wear the new hat that I had just bought from JCPenny but I left it in my car in the morning, and since I didn't wear it all day it wouldn't be fair to put it in the blog. I'm going to try to plan an outfit with the hat this weekend; make sure to watch for it.

Outfit Details:
Polka dot top- Thrifted
Jeans- Abercrombie & Fitch
Cardigan- Urban Outfitters
Flats- Target

Tomorrow: OUTFIT!

JCPenny...

When I first saw the TV commercial for what JCPenny was doing new, I was very intrigued. I knew I wanted to check it out at some point within the next month or so. Then I got the ad booklet for what exactly was happening  new in the store, and what the prices were, which is when I knew I had to get there ASAP!

I went today with mi madre to check everything out, and we were literally in there for about two hours. I picked out the most clothes than I had ever before at JCPenny, and everything was reasonably priced maybe even better.

Here's how it works they are switching to everyday low prices and those prices will be in white. The color red is the months sales, and every first and third Friday of the month they have markdowns which will be in blue. Plus if you are signed up for their rewards they are planning on still sending you the coupons (depending on what your signed up for) we normally get the free $10 JCP cash every couple of months as well as $10 off $25.

One of the first items that I picked out was a cape. Now I have been looking for a cape for just about ever so I was very excited that I had found one, and that it was on the reduced rack. It isn't a cape that I can wear in the cold winter mots, but I will deninitely be wearing it this Spring, and again when Fall rolls back around.

Cape- $5

Next we looked through the accessories, but I wasn't looking for anything in particular. Then I found this fabulous cross-body bag. It was in a nice shade of blue that I think will work perfect with my Spring wadrobe.

Cross-body- $10

After looking through the purses I noticed the hats. I was trying a few of them on, but my mom wasn't really into any of them until I put on this cute light brown vintage inspired hat. Which she said she would buy for me if I promised to wear it this week. I of course said yes.

PS on hats- I think we need to bring that into style because they are simply fabulous especially the vintage ones.

Hat- $6

Then we ventured off to shoes. Oh shoes I don't know what I would do without you. My mom pointed out these 70's inspired chunky shoes that she told me she had a pair just like when she was in middle school. Apparently she bought them for a wedding, but really wanted to wear them to school becasue she loved them so much; one day she wore a dres and those shoes (hers were in white) to school and all the boy made fun of her because of how fancy her outfit was. I told her they were fab and that she should have saved them for me to wear.

Shoes- $30

The last item that I bought I had wanted to buy about 3 months ago, but didn't know if I really needed it. Now I do need it. I have spent hours trying to find something professional whether it be a skirt or pants to wear to an interview I have on Friday for a scholarship. I had forgotten about the dress until I saw it today hanging by the return rack. I asked the sales associate if they had anymore and she thought they might have one left. AND GUESS WHAT! It was my size I was so happy. It fit perfect, and now I have something to wear to the interview, and it's a dress that I can wear out to dinner with the girls or on a date with Steve.

Dress- $5

Another piece of clothing that I bought was a plain dark gray v-neck long sleeve shirt. The one I picked was only $5,but they did have a lot marked down to $2. To me that's resonable I don't and am not going to pay more than maybe $7 for plain shirts that I just wear on casual days or for layering.

Check back tomorrow- Something fashion related?

PS I will definately have one video up this weekend so be sure to stop back soon. Oh and I decided that I like my layout so it won't be changing.

Thanks
XOXO,
Rae

Outfit of the day...

I have one outfit from Tuesday that I would like to share with you. I styled a simple but flirty tank under the infamous leather jacket. I have been obsessed with leather jackets lately. I pair them with anything and everything. They are comfortable and they match everything. They are perfect!

If you don't have a leather jacket I suggest you invest in one. I would suggest getting a quality one first in just a neutral color such as brown or black, whichever you think will match better with your clothes. Look for them on sale too, I luckly found this one at Wilson Leather in an outlet for about $40 (can't remeber for sure). Look for one with a good structure and seams that form your body to give you an hourglass figure. Also try to find one that shows off your particular style. Mine has zippers on the sleeves and a fun pattern on the inside that I exposed by folding over my sleeves.

They also sell leather jackets at place such as Forever 21. I have one from Forever 21 that I really do love, but you can clearly tell it's not real leather and I'm not sure how long it will really last me. I do; however, recommend checking out Goodwill. My friend found a fabulous jacket real leather jacket at Goodwill for $50. Now you might think that's alot of money to cash out at a thrift store, but it was a really nice looking jacket, she could tell it was real leather, and it was in a neutral color (black). That jacket will probably last for about... ever.

Details:
Jacket- Wilson Leather
Tank- Pacsun
Cami- Aeropostale
Jeans- A&F
Shoes- Target

Check back tomorrow for: Review/about JCPenny's new promotions

P.S. I plan to update/redo my blog's layout and everything thing tonight so be sure to check that out when you stop back tomorrow.

Thanks

Rae

News...

Today I invested in a video making software that I found at Office Max. I was hoping for something a little less expensive, but it wasn't outrageous; it was $50. So do you all know what that means now? I will be uploading YouTube videos really soon. I plan to have my Feburary trends out this weekend along with my Valentines day lookbook out sometime within the next week.

I'll be posting more on where to find me on YouTube and when I post them so stop back soon to see.

Thanks

Rae
